Regardless of his opposition’s decreased numbers, though, for the second time in two days that lone wolf was whipped. For some months they’d been thirty-eight strong, but now their dispersers had founded several new and smaller packs. After his dalliance, the interloper was beaten badly again, this time by theĭruids, whose pack that season was made up mostly of lean, tough yearlings, the Druids having thinned and dispersed considerably since I saw them in the summer of 2000. But they turned out to be more flexible, as biologists have learned over the past decade, than that old adage about wolves being monogamous. This was during the breeding season, and territorial margins were a little less flexible. She was the successor to the famous #42, the Cinderella Wolf, the last of the first wolves introduced to Yellowstone National Park in 1996, and this black wolf wanted to mate with her. ![]() The day before I arrived, the lone wolf, likely a wanderer from Mollie’s Pack down near Pelican Lake, had found the alpha female of the Druids. He was chased until he intruded upon the Rose Creek Pack’s territory, where he was beaten and chased again, back into a neutral space between the zones of control. An interloper tried to gain access to the Druid Peak Pack in the valley. A drama had unfolded over the prior three days that February, one that seems appropriate to a book that examines how the nonhuman world is constantly correcting our assumptions and fantasies about it. I’m anxious to find out what wolves might gain from a book written by an English professor too often stuck inside the ivory tower. After spending a decade in libraries and conducting interviews, after the sight of wolves behind fences and perhaps a few months of man-hours in wolf country, I offer only ecocriticism. The writers of wolf books might whip their excursions to Baffin Island or the Boundary Waters beyond exhaustion in order to build their own ethos, but like Jay Robert Elhard in Wolf Tourist, I wave the flag of the wolf-watching novice. I am becoming an amateur naturalist having spent time with trained biologists and ecologists in the field, I have no delusions about the limits of my knowledge regarding the natural world. She was his first obsession, and Joe thought she was dead until she came back into his life after Beck’s book was published. Candace Stoneĭid She Deserve to Die?: Much like Peach, Candace (Ambyr Childers) escaped Joe’s first murder attempt. When stalking Peach, Joe left an incriminating and crusty jar of urine behind, which is a loose end that may yet still come back to haunt him. Joe attacked Peach not once but two times: once as she was jogging in Central Park, and then a second time at her house. But, despite all her flaws, girl did not deserve to go out like she did. She also flagrantly controlled others through these means, even releasing a drunken video of a friend in order to ruin her reputation. She controlled Beck through a combination of money, guilt, and prestigious influence. Peach Salingerĭid She Deserve the Axe?: Peach (Shay Mitchell) was certainly a toxic friend who was a threat to Beck in many ways. Love was threatened enough by Joe’s obsession with Natalie that she slit her throat mere weeks after meeting her, leaving Joe to clean up the mess. But were Natalie’s sins murder-worthy? Nope. In fact, she nabbed her hubby Matthew Engler when he was still married. Natalie Englerĭid She Deserve the Axe?: Natalie (Michaela McManus) wasn’t a bad person, per se, but she was very much trying to cheat on her husband with the “boring neighbor.” Given her comfort level with how quickly and confidently she seduced Joe, a married new father, Natalie wasn’t a stranger to adultery. She was an aspiring writer and valiantly tried to write her way out of Joe’s clutches- Hamilton-stylez-but all she got for her effort was a posthumous publication after Joe strangled her to death. In the season 3 finale, Love admitted to incorrectly dosing her husband with the paralytic poison Aconite, using it orally instead of on the skin. Joe went nearly mad trying to figure out why he would have killed her, only to find out that Love was the murderer the entire time.ĭid He Deserve the Axe?: Nope. After an impromptu acid trip with Forty, Joe returned to the cage, only to find Delilah dead, throat slit. When Joe found her in his storage unit, he locked her in his cage with a swiftness, promising to let her out once he skipped town. A landlady / journalist, Delilah (Carmela Zumbado) was a complete innocent who simply had a curious mind and a key to Joe’s apartment. ![]() Delilah Alvesĭid She Deserve the Axe?: Absolutely not. Below we’ve ranked the unsuspecting victims of You from dewy-eyed innocent to downright devilish. So, we’re here to set the record straight by sorting through all the murder madness. There have been plenty of innocent lives lost in their destructive wake. That’s not to say that Joe or Love are heroes of any kind. When bad things happen to bad people, the vigilante justice in You can certainly be electrifying to watch. While viewers often cheer for Love and Joe to get away with murder, these types of kills are especially sweet. I won't be comparing or contrasting the tools rather, I'll briefly present them with some pointers on how to install and use the tool, and I'll leave the final determination of which tool is "better" for your case up to you. For parallel code execution, you usually need some add-ons, such as Message Passing Interface (MPI), and a code rewrite to allow multiple instances of the tool on different nodes that communicate over a network. Serial in this case means that the vast majority of the code is executed on a single core, although some of the programs have the ability to do a small amount of parallel execution. They have varying degrees of success with Matlab compatibility, and all are inherently serial applications. ![]() ![]() These tools try to be as close as possible to Matlab syntax so that Matlab code will transfer over easily, with the possible exception of Simulink and Matlab GUI code. A whole host of other tools exists if you want to stray from Matlab compatibility even further, such as R or SciPy however in this article, I will talk about the open source tools Scilab, GNU Octave, and FreeMat. When people ask what tools or applications they can try on their shiny new cluster, I tend to recommend one of these Matlab-like tools, even though they aren't strictly parallel right out of the box (so to speak).Ī few tools that are somewhat Matlab-like – some still surviving and some defunct – include RLaB, RLaB+, JMathlab, and O-Matrix (commercial). This brings up the category of tools typically called "Matlab-like" that is, they try to emulate the concept of Matlab with compatible syntax so that moving back and forth is relatively easy. I don't want to take anything away from MathWorks, the creator of Matlab, because their product is a wonderful application, but for a number of reasons, Matlab might not be the answer for some people (e.g., they can't afford Matlab or can't afford 25,000 licenses, they just want to try a few Matlab features, or they want or need access to the source code). Needless to say, Matlab is used very heavily at a number of places, so it is a very good candidate for running on an HPC system. Some researchers use it for parameter sweeps by launching 25,000 or more individual Matlab runs at the same time. People are using Matlab for a variety of tasks that range from the humanities, to science, to engineering, to games, and more. For example, a fairly recent blog posting from Harvard University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Research Computing Group showed that the second most popular Environment Module was Matlab. One of the most popular applications is Matlab, which many people use in their everyday work and research – either Matlab or Matlab-like tools. A common question from people who build both large and small HPC clusters is, "What applications can I run on my HPC system?" ![]() 12/25/2022 0 Comments Mosaic pro warrior 21 review![]() In an effort to explore anxiety as both a psychological and physical feeling, both Outer and Inner maps depict the simultaneous feeling of anxiety taking up space around and inside of me. Using my body as a canvas to map out anxiety, layers of thread and string of various colors are woven into the sheets. State of Being is a set of two 68 inch x 96 inch sheets, onto which my own body has been traced. So, I ask of you this: when was the last time you truly played? And as you reflect, I challenge you to carve out some time and re-engage with our human need to simply be curious and play. I simply existed, in the here and now, and nothing mattered other than focusing on the aspect of play. I was able to fill up my cup and spend hours with loved ones playing cards, board games and building puzzles. This holiday season was the first time in those two and half years that I took a full week dedicated to playing. I haven’t truly engaged in play in two and half years. Of course, I’ve made art, but it was always for a specific outcome. However, it struck me that I haven’t truly played. I always have and continue to find so much meaning in the work that we do as art therapists and value each day I get to provide services. In my reflection, I was able to give and receive love throughout the pandemic via outside walks, Zoom get-togethers and writing letters through the mail. The supervisor provided their response as, “an individual’s ability to give and receive love, to find meaning and pleasure in their work and the ability to play to experience joy.” I reflected on this definition for the month of December.Īs a mental health professional, during these unprecedented times, myself and many others have rose to the occasion to meet the needs of the community. I quickly tried to formulate my words but all that came out was a stumbling, unclear definition. One of the traditional beliefs in Iranian culture is that these blue beads in the house cause disasters to stay away from the inhabitants of that house.Ī supervisor asked this poignant question at a recent group supervision I attended. Kharmohre color is known as Iranian blue. I am Iranian and I always like to use a symbol of Iranian culture in the artworks that I produce, so next to the pieces of tiles and mirrors, I used blue beads in different designs and dimensions, which are called kharmohre, they are produced only in Iran. The color that I chose for this artwork was blue because blue is always a symbol of peace for me. ![]() The reason that I chose small mirrors for around the artwork was that, having problems and clutter in life like a mirror causes us, for a few minutes, to look at ourselves and the path we have taken. I look in the mirror and wonder, "Have past small problems changed me right now?" ![]() The large mirror in the middle of the work is a symbol of the present. This is what I tried to show in my artwork. Things that seem unpleasant at first can take a while until we look back to review the past, and despite all the problems, from afar we see beauty in general and we are proud of ourselves for our endurance and not being disappointed. Moments of life can go on in a way we did not expect at all. We all constantly try to manage our lives in the best way according to our wishes and planned schedule, but sometimes unintentional things happen in our lives that prevent the continuation of this regular course. The existence of these irregularities reminds me of life. Pieces of tile are broken and put together regularly, but among them there are small pieces of mirror of different sizes. Like the mandala that follows regular circles, my mosaic art follows an underlying order, with a difference that there are points of disorder in the order. Mosaic art allows its creator to add a new objects at any time, even diverse objects such as pieces of glass, beads, bracelets, various stones etc. ![]() ![]() I got positive feedback using this technique with my clients. ![]() 12/24/2022 0 Comments Reflector 3![]() ![]() Trial software allows the user to evaluate the software for a limited amount of time.
